Introduction to Ontario
Ontario is a member of DKG International Society For Key Women Educators, an honour society of women passionate about education. There are members in seventeen countries. The seven provincial ‘states’ in Canada are British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Ontario currently has three chapters: Gamma (London), Eta (London) and Omicron (Toronto).
Together, the Canadian ‘states’ are represented by the Area Representative Canada (ARC). Ontario also belongs to Delta Kappa Gamma’s North East Region, which is led by a director (NERD).

Each biennium, the Ontario Executive Board chooses a State Project. State Projects are a philanthropic endeavor with an educational focus, and receive both funding and support from the state. These projects can be renewed once for a total of four years. Past projects include a primary school in Berekum, Ghana, and the Mully Children’s Family Foundation. The projects selected for the 2023-2025 biennium are Art For Aid and Sew And Sew
